Whelp, I graduated!
It feels so strange not being a college student anymore, and it’s honestly a little terrifying. I am so grateful for all of the amazing people that I have met and learned from here at RIT, both professors and friends.
I am so lucky to have been a part of many tight-knit families here at RIT. My New Media Design, WITR, and CAB families have all given me a place to call my home away from home, pushed me to great things, and given me the love and support I needed to be the best I can be. I am so thankful to have been a part of all of these amazing families, and I don’t know how I would have survived four years of college without them.
I will miss RIT so much, and I am a little terrified to be a real adult now, but I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me.
Two weeks after my last trip to Canada, I had the awesome opportunity to go to the FITC conference again in Toronto, ON. The conference included three days of talks from different professionals in the industry, and also three pretty darn fun after parties. The presenters were so amazing and inspiring, and included Gmunk (in the third picture), Aaron Draplin, James White, and Danny Yount just to name a few.
I had a wonderful time bonding with all of my classmates, learning loads about the creative industry, and meeting lots of interesting new people.
In the beginning of April I road-tripped up to Toronto with three of my awesome friends from WITR 89.7 to see a Wavves, Fidlar, and Cheatahs concert. After having an awesome time at the concert we stopped at a bar on the way back to the hotel. There we met a very interesting guy named James who ended up trying to guess where we were from by our accents and then buying all of our drinks at the end of the night. After the bar we stopped to get some food, shwarmas (whatever those are), and someone there ended up buying all of our food for us too. Canadians are wonderful people.
The next day we stayed to see a Red Sox vs. Blue Jays game. The Sox lost horribly, and we were heckled the whole game for being the only Boston fans there, but Canadians are very nice hecklers and they all gave us high-fives at the end.
Honestly, this trip to Toronto was probably one of the most fun weekends I have ever had and I hope I can hang out with all of these guys again after I graduate.
Well, it’s a little dark and blurry, but this is a photo of the concert that I planned and booked at Lovin’ Cup last night for the radio station I work at, WITR 89.7. Over 200 people showed up and by the end of it most people were dancing. I’ve never seen Lovin’ Cup so packed and I’m so proud that I’m the one who made that happen! The bands I booked included two bands from RIT (Wholesale Kids and The Reactions) and two local Rochester bands (Kopps and AMNL).
I have been taking the Glass elective here at RIT this quarter. We focusing on glass blowing, as well as other techniques like flame working and lost wax casting. Glass blowing is by far my favorite though. The other techniques are very tedious and take quite a while.
These are a few pieces that I have created this quarter, and in the fall. I absolutely love the class and wish there was a place I could continue glass blowing after I graduate in a month!
A digital painting of my little sister. This is another one done for my digital painting class.
In February I worked with Buffalo-based photographer, and RIT alum, Luke Copping, who I met through my lovely make up artist friend Nicole. I’m in love with how these photos turned out. He made me look like such a bad ass (which I am not, but sometimes try to pretend to be). Luke was a wonderful photographer to work with, and had a great sense of humor which kept us all in great spirits. We hope to work together again before I graduate from RIT in May. That’s next month, yikes!

Self-portrait for my digital painting class. Inspired by the illustrations of Matthew Woodson.
Well, it took around 9 hours, but my first digital painting for class is done!
Woooo!
There’s certain parts that I could have spent a little more time on, but it’s due tomorrow and my eyes hurt so I am going to need to take a break from the computer for a while.
